MONARCH 21 training -- like MONARCH 21 -- is unsurpassed. MONARCH 21 is the only PPG designed from the ground up by clinical experts in the field of sex offender assessment and treatment. No other PPG has the foundation of clinical expertise and research that supports MONARCH 21 and these same clinical experts will show you how to get the most from your new system.

The comprehensive MONARCH 21 PPG training spans four days, and is divided into two levels:

Level I Technical Training (Days 1 and 2)

Trainees first learn by doing...all the technical aspects of the MONARCH 21 equipment and software and what is crucial for obtaining good PPG data. A standardized testing protocol is demonstrated and trainees learn how to optimize the quality and consistency of data through proper equipment setup, operation and calibration. Level I training culminates in trainees actually assisting in a live assessment with a real client. The data from that assessment is then printed and the group begins the data interpretation process under the guidance of PPG expert and MONARCH 21 designer Peter M. Byrne, Ph.D.

Level II Clinical Training (Days 3 and 4)

Days three and four are devoted entirely to clinical concerns and trainees are instructed by Dr. Byrne in basic data interpretation, ethical responsibilities, safety considerations, strengths and weaknesses of the PPG: what it can and cannot be expected to provide, working with multiple traces in detecting client faking and response interference efforts, how to incorporate PPG data into a psychosexual evaluation, the legal ramifications of using PPG data, and much more.

Cost:

Cost for each two-day training module is $300 per person (one complimentary 4-day training is included with the purchase of a new MONARCH 21 system).

Transportation to and from training:

To insure you get the most from each day of training, we will, if you choose, pick you up at your hotel in downtown Salt Lake, drive you to and from lunch, and return you to the hotel after training each day. If you choose to rent a car and drive yourself, BTI is just minutes from downtown.
